About
Hi! I’m Ryan, an MBA candidate, aspiring product manager, electrical engineer, freelance web developer, world traveler, amateur photographer, avid snowboarder, motorcycle enthusiast, and Bay Area native. My technical journey through life has taken me across experiences ranging from running the internet’s 2nd-largest Pokemon website, studying lasers and electrical transport in nanowires at UCSD and UCLA, assembling optical satellites for NASA, helping to get a medical device FDA approved, and launching an iPad app used in sales in hospitals around the world. I sporadically maintin a blog centered on travel, random topics, and business school.
I’ve enjoyed engineering and web development for much of my life, but currently I am pursuing my MBA at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, finishing in 2018 with an emphasis on product management in technology. After spending many years on the engineering design and implementation side, I am ready to move towards product development and influence the direction of the products I work on.
While this site’s original design dates a few years back, I have maintained my development skills to adjust to the always-changing web landscape, adopting responsive design and honing my design chops with each iteration and site I make as a freelance developer. Along with standard HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, I’ve experimented with PHP and Ruby on Rails and am always up to challenge myself and learn more. After business school, I intend to use this knowledge not just to strengthen my effectiveness as a product manager, but to always continue building myself.
This site is perpetually changing. All elements of this site are self-written using HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery/JavaScript.
